The Management and Analysis of Empirical Models (3 credits)

mpirical analysis is an important tool in social science research and medical related industries. Econometric models and estimation strategies used in a research are two of decisive factors of whether it is a good empirical research. One-third of this course will teach about the fundamental econometric theories, and two-third of it will focus on the empirical practicum. Empirical models covered in this course are basic linear models,Nonlinear models, such as MLE, Discrete choice models, corner solution outcomes and censored regression models, and count data models. This course teachs how to estimate the above model and how to evaulate the effect of a marginal and discrete change of an explanatory variable on the predicted outcome.
