Bachelor of Science

Our broad spectrum of courses enables students to develop professional knowledge as well as to increase their career competitiveness. For our freshman and sophomore students, we provide courses to teach them modern management knowledge. To cater for the needs of our students, these courses are designed by our academic staffs as well as co-structured with the College of Management. The core courses of medical management focus on semester- specific management topics. In addition, we have special seminars to enable students to develop the ability to identify problems, to perform in-depth investigation, and to independently seek workable solutions. Students may, based on their individual personality or interest, choose their own course plans provided by the departments within the College of Management (including medical information management and biotechnology management), to develop a 2nd/3rd area of expertise and make themselves more competitive in modern society that needs interdisciplinary integration.

Hands-on practice verifies management knowledge and skills. We emphasize learning from doing. During the summer and winter vacations, we arrange students to do their internships in Chang-Gung Memorial Hospital and hospitals around the country. Customized according to the student’s learning abilities, interests, and professional needs, we design complete internship rotations, so students can be involved in each vital link of hospital management and identify their own future career path. During the internship, department teachers and on-site professional instructors conduct co-tutoring for all students.

Master of Science

This program is characterized by the combination of theory and practice. During the summer and winter vacations, we design 10-week internships for our students to participate in the management of healthcare-related institutions. These internships enable students to integrate the learned theories with the actual experience of hospital operational management and the drafting of health policies.

This program is characterized by the integration of both international and local experiences. The implementation of the health insurance system should meet the needs of the society. Our teachers guide students to analyze and investigate foreign health insurance systems. In addition, we use Chang-Gung’s management experience, which spans over two decades, and the evidence-based databank collected by our institution to invent and develop medical management models customized for ourselves. Moreover, in order to broaden students’ vision, our institution has academic exchange and collaboration programs with top-ranked foreign universities, and invites internationally renowned scholars to give lectures.

The Development of decision-making is emphasized. Our institution has a most comprehensive faculty team nationwide. The curriculum includes healthcare management, health policy, medical economics, epidemiology, psychology, sociology, demography, etc. We hope the diversified interdisciplinary learning can cultivate students’ all-around thinking process. Our teaching methods emphasize induced interactive learning, to develop students’ decision-making competence in identifying problems, active investigation, and problem solving.
